Toronto-based Knockri, which has developed an artificial intelligence-based (AI) video recruiting tool aimed to enable fairer hiring processes, has closed $3 million CAD in seed funding.

Knockri has developed a solution aimed to eliminate bias in the hiring process. The company was founded by Ansari in 2016. The idea for the startup came about because Ansari was reportedly unable to find work until he anglicized his name, after which he apparently received interest from managers that had previously overlooked him.

Knockri’s video, audio and written screening platforms are integrated into existing applicant tracking systems. Knockri’s API is compatible with several talent acquisition solutions and is offered in multiple languages. The startup told BetaKit it now plans to integrate the solution with video conferencing tools like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams.
